Lucy’s dog was named Bugger by the shelter that got her.
Burger as in “Cheese Burger”
Who would name a dog burger?
And why would they name a dog a burger?
Well, it so happen that she was fat when the shelter got the dog.
The story they told Lucy was that she wandered into a construction area in Queen, NY, and the workers loved her so much they kept feeding her leftovers during their lunch breaks.
And she does not know how to say No :).
So when the shelter went to pick her up from the shelter area, she tried to get away but couldn’t because she was so fat as a result of eating all those damn left over food that were being fed to her by the construction workers.
So when she finally made it to the shelter, she was put on a special diet.
Over time, she lost a lot of weight but the name still stick even though she’d lost a lot of weight.
